Put the coffee on and pour yourself a big mug......you'll need it to stay awake while you read this!!

There are few things in life more important than a sense of humour....the ability to smile when the going gets tough or when frustration kicks in...

For me its the most important lesson I've learnt in over a decade of being an instructor. Its certainly as important as all the training and education in nutrition and exercise I've had over the years.

I remember the very first class I took in the gym....I stood there feeling out of place (the only guy in the step class!), nervous, embarassed by my level of obesity, worried that I wouldn't be able ot keep up and end up looking an idiot.

But the instructor didn't care.....she smiled, encouraged, and made jokes, after that it was easy to keep going back.

I guess this cemented my phil-osophy on how we can create a "healthy lifestyle" as we go about our daily lives

How we move

How we eat

How we deal with stress (Home & Work)

How we sleep

5 Years after qualifying as an instructor, I started up my first health and fitness business in Shanghai, it was 2011. It was a massive learning curve for me...a new business teaching people from all over the world, different languages, lifestyles, etc. But I soon learnt that we all have the same hopes, fears, dreams and desires for our lives and our health.

In every case there's no such thing as "one size fits all", its why many diets and exercise plans fail....either they're not right for you in the first place or they can't be maintained

We need to match the path we take with our lifestyle and where we find ourselves right now.....and that's what I do.

I returned to the UK in 2017 but the stress of moving home, country, work and the needs of a newly adopted two year old resulted in significant weight gain (I'm a comfort eater!), and my health started to decline

So here I am, a 52 year old that's restarting his own "health and fitness journey" but this time with some knowledge, so why not join me and make a difference to your own health and wellbeing?!

Cheers
